Jon Boden Wins Folk Singer of the Year!

The newly crowned BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards Folk Singer of the Year, Jon Boden will be touring this summer. Joining Jon once again will be the extraordinary 4-piece Remnant Kings featuring the amazing simultaneous drums/fiddle playing of Sam Sweeney (Bellowhead, Kerfuffle) and concertina virtuoso Rob Harbron (English Acoustic Collective, Kerr:Fagan:Harbron).

The show is in the form of two one-hour sets* allowing time to explore a great range of material, from the post-industrial themes of Jon's remarkable 'Songs from the Floodplain' song cycle, to interpretations of traditional material, to Bach played on concertina and fiddle, to underscored wax cylinder recordings of Victorian post-apocalyptic literature, plus the occasional rousing grunge classic from Jon's first album, Painted Lady.

Jon is still heavily committed to his work with Bellowhead and Spiers & Boden, so don't miss this rare opportunity to see him in this remarkable, uplifting, thought-provoking show.

"A post-apocalyptic, wax-cylinder wielding, folk-grunge spectacular"

Jon's May tour with The Remnant Kings is full but we are now looking at Feb 10-20 2011. We expect demand to be high again so book early!
